we just might be able to make better relationships with the special help of the internet.

So I read this article published in Teen Vogue explaining how social media impacts friendships, and looks…pretty good?

It says it strengthened relationships and it made making friends a whole lot easier because you can just text them after you first meet them and that’s perfect because IT AVOIDS THAT WHOLE HOW-DO-I-MAKE-CONVERSATION-TO-THIS-PERSON-I-HARDLY-KNOW-AND-BARELY-LIKE-BUT-GOD-I-HOPE-I-DON’T-STUTTER AWKWARDNESS that everyone faces when they meet someone new. I mean, honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I called someone instead of just texting them.

also if you'd like to know how to bs your way through any conversation, click here, and you'll never have to worry about those awkward moments again.

And its most definitely true that it strengthens relationships. I know that for me when anyone likes anything I post on Instagram my automatic response is ‘WOAH!!! THEY’RE SO NICE!!! THEY LIKED MY PICTURE! THEY’RE THE BEST PERSON EVER!! WE’RE PRACTICALLY BFFs NOW!!!’  Even if I have never ever talked to them before I automatically start liking them a whole lot more.

It also talks about sharing passwords with your friends (#FriendshipGoals???) I don’t know how I feel about that. Isn’t that the one thing websites tell you never to do. Seems pretty shady to me.
And throughout the article they use a lot of statistics so it looks pretty credible right.

This article is mainly aimed for teens/people in their 20s – 30s (duh its published on Teen Vogue) and you can tell by its major use of internet slang like IRL (in real life)

Though it talks about how the internet can cause drama too, I mean, I guess that's true, its like one wrong comment starts a riot.

anyway what do you think? is the internet strengthening our relationship-making abilities?
