The Next Revolution era is here........Social Media Revolution

                                                   Social Media Revolution
A new Revolution Era has begun after the Industrial Revolution.Although not all of us think like that which is acceptable as everyone has their own opinions and views on a certain topic. But looking at our progress from the invention of the radios as a mean of communication to today's online world is incredible. In 1969, the internet was introduced to the public 47 years from now.The invention of the internet opened up a whole new world. From then the internet has been developing and making new websites for us.No one knew that one day internet would be a place for people to have conversations and meet new people like Facebook,Twitter,Snapchat,WhatsApp and so the list is never ending. The first social media website was established in 1997 known as the Six degrees where users were able to upload pictures and make new friends with other users.

We have come a long way from their so let's take a look at an infographic of   Evolution of the Social Media......

The Evolution of the Social Media infographic clearly shows the 3 eras of the social media the primitive, medieval and the golden era.

Primitive Era-The beginning of social media
The Primitive Era started in 1979 with Usenet where news was posted to the newsgroups. In late the 70's Bulletin Board System (BBS) was launched it was the first website to have a login option for interaction. And other two websites that contributed to this era were the Compuserve in 1980 and Prodigy Communications Corporations in 1984.

Medieval Era-Introduction of chat
This era began in 1988 with Introduction to Internet relay Chat where users were able to share files, link sharings. And was also used as a mean of communications. In 1996 came the Introduction to ICQ where the emoticons were made and abbreviations such as" LOL" and "BRB" became famous. All of us will instantly recognize these terms as all of us use them every day.In 1997, Six Degrees was introduced the FIRST social media website resembling some of the today's features like creating a profile & adding friends.
Golden Era-Wikipedia,Snapchat, Vine,Twitter,Facebook!!!
Then came the websites that we use today most of which we use almost every day Wikipedia,Friendster,Hi5,Myspace,Facebook,Orkut,Flickr,Youtube,Reddit,Twitter,Tumblr,Whatsapp the list can go on forever. And these websites need no introduction,5-year-olds can even recognize most of these websites.

Even though we don't think that the Evolution of Social Media is our next Revolution. But it is something to think about. And just wondering how our lives would have been without the social media.Would we still be sending letters instead of just texting them? Or would there have been something else we could have been using instead of social media?

But there could be a time when in our history textbooks when we have Social Media Revolution right beside Industrial Revolution.

The Evolution of Social Media is very well illustrated in the infographic,it is easy to read and understand. The colours for each Era,really contribute to the whole infographic as the colours pop out and the information is organised in a simplistic manner making it really easy understand to all age groups.
