Are we using the Internet? Or we are being used by the Internet

  Internet, a word which now is commonly known almost by everyone, it is also a magical word which, in people's opinions,also stands for some other words: convenience, freedom, interaction,etc. All these images come from experiences which people get when they are using the Internet.
  As the Internet is becoming a big role of our daily lives,  here comes a question: Are we really using the Internet?

  We have to admit that Internet does ENRICH our lives, meanwhile it also makes our lives easier. People are now commonly shopping online, they can get items which might be not available in their area; they could also use applications such as skype, facetime, messenger and so on to interact and face-to-face with their families or friends who are far away from them; they could even take online courses and they do not need to go to school and learn anymore, all they need to do is stay at home and use their computers to learn knowledge;people could also manage their bank accounts online, pay for daily fees... Believe it or not, there are also so many people using Internet as a platform which can be a perfect place for people fundraising and collecting different ideas and all those things. Internet is useful for us, and we are using the Internet through various ways.
  However, the process of us,people, using the Internet doesn't only bring benefits to people, the Internet also gets benefits- We are used by the Internet.
  Remember there was a famous youtuber who quit all of her social networks last year, why? Why did she dump her glories? Why did she neglect those coming 'opportunities' ? Why did she give up all the things she had and tried to be normal again? Because she felt herself used by the Internet-Those companies who actually run the Internet. She had to dress like an adult when she was still 16; just for an instagram picture, which seemed to be random, she needed to edit it for so many times and consuming a lot of time, because that was actually asked to take by one of her 'sponsors',her daily schedule is effected by those 'sponsors'. Her life was basically under the control of the Internet, the Internet was using her to get benefits.
 More than just that, there is also another one of an example for proving we are  being used by the Internet. Smuggling actually happens a lot on the Internet, it's bringing benefits to the Internet-companies which run the Internet. The reason why smuggling happens online is that there are so many people using the Internet at the same time, it is impossible for policemen to find out any traces.
 Overall, we are using the Internet, however, Internet is using us at the same time.
